Gianmaria Potenza to present his last monograph in Florence
During the opening of the two Florentine exhibitions, Thursday 19th April 2018, at 17:30, the Venetian artist will be at the centre of another event in Florence: the presentation of the monographic volume, “Gianmaria Potenza, Unknown Alphabets and Symbolic Languages”, at the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno, at via Orsanmichele n.4, Florence.
The volume, edited by Laura Villani and published by Editoriale Giorgio Mondadori, in a bilingual English/Italian edition, illustrates the work of the Maestro through a collection of precious details, drawing upon a vast repertoire of techniques and materials employed over the past decades by the artist, exploring the signs and symbols that render the works of Gianmaria Potenza unique and inimitable.
The volume also retraces the fundamental milestones in his artistic journey and his artistic career: from his debuts at the Institute of Art in Venice to his first shows at the Bevilacqua la Masa Foundation and the Venice Biennale and large commissions, both public and private, thanks to which Potenza, while still very young, could experiment with the most varied techniques and materials, developing his language, in exhibitions that brought him international renown.
