Owls

The Owl, animal of good luck, is certainly the most recurrent subject in the Gianmaria Potenza’s production. The ability of this animal to see in the darkness, attributed as synonymous of wisdom and unconscious knowledge, represents the duality of the artist’s eye, giver of life and innovation, since the intrinsic wisdom of the creator of art does not consist only in bringing to light what is dark, but also live in the darkness itself. The work of Gianmaria Potenza thus includes the wisdom and the irrepressible desire of culture, by elevating the owl to a conscious and intelligible beauty,  accompanied by the ancient seer eyes of knowledge.
