Gianmaria Potenza has donated the bronze sculpture Grappolo d’Uva (Bunch of Grapes) to the Veneto Regional Council. The work, created in 2016, exists in two numbered copies. One of these copies was previously given to the Bisol family, with whom Potenza has collaborated on several artistic projects connected to the Tenuta Venissa estate in Mazzorbo. The second copy is now being presented to the Regional Council, marking the conclusion of the exhibition Gianmaria Potenza – Elaborating New Codes, held at Palazzo Ferro Fini from May 14 to October 29, 2025. The donation also serves as a gesture of gratitude for the Council’s hospitality and support during the exhibition.
Grappolo d’Uva was conceived as a small-scale model for a larger project, in keeping with Potenza’s creative approach, which often involves preliminary works that explore ideas for future developments. The sculpture represents a cluster of grapes and forms part of an artistic proposal connected to the Prosecco region, celebrating the local winemaking tradition through a monumental work of art.
“I trust that my Grappolo d’Uva may find within regional institutions a space for listening and symbolic dialogue with citizens, helping to strengthen the connection between art, territory, and community.”
The donation will be officially celebrated on December 1 at Palazzo Ferro Fini, during a ceremony attended by the artist and regional authorities. The event will mark a symbolic close to the exhibition and reaffirm the importance of the project, with the hope that the sculpture will inspire reflection on the role of these territories in the history of Veneto and open new possibilities for public recognition of this heritage, potentially including the creation of a monument placed in the very locations that inspired the work.
